Brothers Harold and Russell Gould started making their sausages
from a butcher's shop in Newtown, Wellington in the early 1950's.
News of the brothers' great tasting sausages soon spread, the business grew, and before long the fleet of yellow Goulds trucks were seen all over the lower North Island, delivering Goulds sausages and hams.
In June 1993 Goulds moved to a larger, purpose-built factory in
Lower Hutt.
Today Goulds employs over 100 staff and continues to make sausages, plus bacon and ham products and other classics like battered hotdogs, donuts, pastrami and roast beef.
Russell Gould continues to be involved with the business – and he still knows what makes a good sausage!
